Dio & Lucciola drama info.
OKAY so I was going to wait until more stuff came out about the Dio and Lucciola drama-- FOR EXAMPLE, I know there might be a couple of summaries of the events either on the official site or on the blog site (or both??) coming soon.

So basically, this post is going to be updated and bumped when more stuff like that comes out, since the real struggle is getting to really feel the drama for everyone who was not at the event. And being That Person, I must know it all-- or however much I can possibly get/find online.

Well first of all, like the Chronicles post, have a disclaimer of LOL I NO SPEAK MOON and possibly stuff might not all make sense? A lot of it is from twitter and blogs, so translations were a little more choppy than things from official sources. So, yes. Go forth with that warning.

Also I worked and stalked my ass off to gather this info so IT FEELS GOOD MAN.

First, at the special Last Exile Night event, where they marathoned the whole series, Noda Junko and Hanba Tomoe were guests for the first series' screening. Ayana Yuniko, one of the writers for Fam, wrote a short drama thing taking place in the first series that they performed there live. No idea if they're ever going to release this as a proper drama or not, but in the event that they don't and in the meantime, that is why I have this post. So everyone who wasn't there knows what it was about at least.

Anyway, the title of the drama is Firefly's Prayer - Overload

Overload is a chess term, meaning A piece that has too many defensive duties. An overloaded piece can sometimes be deflected, or required to abandon one of its defensive duties.

Here's the longest summary of it I found from one person:
- It takes place on the Silvana during the episode where it prepares to fight the Urbanus. Dio suddenly tries to make a deal to fight with Lucciola. Under the reasoning of something like "friends can fight each other" -- something like that. FRIENDSHIP IS INVOLVED. Lucciola apparently doesn't want to? Or doesn't agree to, or just doesn't engage? Because he is a servant.

- This makes Dio remind him about why he gave Lucciola his name. Which turns into a child flashback. That Lucciola is the name for the firefly, and they glow to communicate. And then Dio talks about them having hearts/souls, and despite Delphine saying differently, he says that surely even insects have hearts, just like those in the Guild (implying they're not different). So he wants to know the true feelings in Lucciola's heart. After that flashback thing, he asks him "What are you thinking right now, Lucciola?"

- Lucciola apparently thinks about an answer and Dio notices the change (in expression or demeanor??) when he thinks about what to say? But then there's a ship-wide call to the hangar for the battle that interrupts. They go to meet up with Claus, and Lucciola has an INNER MONOLOGUE OF FEELINGS. That when Dio calls him a friend, his heart starts to pound harder. That his first job is still as a servant, even though his 'master' has given him so much. And though Dio insists that Lucciola will always be with him (not 100% sure on this line), Lucciola is a little envious at how they have to hide their friendship in comparison to someone like Claus because of how he's expected to be a servant (by the Guild/Delphine). And wishes that someday they won't have to hide it.

- They end the drama with the "Lucciola, look! I can almost touch the clouds!" line.

- In that 7 minutes, one of them says the other's name 17 times, as a fun fact the writer mentioned. I don't know which one, but lol. (probably Dio saying Lucciola's, since it's about his name)

One of the fanartists made a textless comic of the drama! Her pixiv is here and her website is here-- I'm just posting the comic here for reference's sake for the sake of. Getting as much of this thing as possible.

This post will be edited when I get more ANYTHING with corrections and additions to things I probably got wrong. I'll post bumps in the future!

You mean four race musics including DIO'S THEME they left out of the first series. I never forgave them for that one. And they reused some in season 2 too. Sure, we got "Flying to Fly", except THAT'S NOT THE ONE IN THE ANIME. Sob.

From season 1, we're missing Dio's theme (the synth awesome version of Flying to Fly from when he chases Claus in his Starfish), the other synth music right after that when Lavie red-outs, the bird race music, and one of the Horizon Cave ones. From season 2 I think we're misssing two so far, I'll have to be an insane OST maniac watch the show some more to be sure. I wanted that music too. T_T

But yes, holy, this soundtrack is solid gold. My only true regret is that we didn't get the insane mix of all the battle tunes from the last episodes. But at least we got them individually!
