Episode 20.
IT'S THE FINAL COUNTDOOOOOOOWN. Which is to say oh god oh god ALL OF THE STUFF HAPPENING THE ENTRANCES AND ... RE?? ENTRANCES AND SURPRISES AND AAAAAAAAAA.

Also as usual Dio is the best and the trolliest.

And then I guess I will have a small series feelingsspooge at the end because one more episode after this, now.

Well first sorry for the sub texts (LOL) being slightly grainy, but a lot of the ep was in dark places so I went to quickfix that. :x

First we find out a few interesting tidbits about the Grand Exile as Luscinia speaks to everyone via giant scary ass hologram thing.

Al can feel poor Sara. :(

FUCK YES TATIANA GETTING READY TO SORTIE.

Poor Dio is hurt AGAIN and sad.

Then when Alis tells him to take care of the Silvius and support Millia the idiot salutes with his hurt arm and hurts himself. Dio is a winner.

They need to find Sara, so need Al to help with that, so...

Basically Millia says no, she still can't forgive Dian just yet, and that even though she has the power to feel where Sara is, she has a job to do where she is.

DAGOBERT MY HUSBAND.

Shippy moment before the battle begins.

Then Orang's fleet prepares for the battle WHEN-- WHEN SUDDENLY...!!!!!!!

Orang's face here HIS FACE YOU GUYS.

Sadri has Raha reflections as he stands firm still in defending Luscinia and the Grand Exile.

Then the battle against the Grand Exile and Sadri's fleet begins.

Guess what has defense tentacles too.

After a second firing, the Grand Exile aims a third to Iglasia, and as we can see from the cap, Luscinia is done caring who is where.

Then Dio suddenly MYSTERIONS THE FUCK OUT OF MILLIA. Mysterinon-con?

Because their Exile sacrifices itself acting as a shield for the firing on Ilgasia. GJ DIO SAVING ENTIRE CAPITOLS.

AND THEN ... OH MY GOD SCREAMING!!

LOOKING FIERCE AS FUCK DAMN.

Sorush makes making orders PRETTY oh that hairflip you fabulous bitch.

Then they realize the firing mechanisms on the Grand Exile are one-time use, and also leave an opening where they were due to the sheer power of the weapon being fired. So they make it inside, and as the Silvius makes it in and crashes (it's hard to make out in the cap) into something, the vanship team launches.

........... oh they have automated starfish defense.

:3c These two.

Al uses her fellow lolikey senses.

HNNNNGH.

FINALLY WE SEE VINCENT CHAINSAW THE SHIT OUT OF A TENTACLE.

As they reach where Sara and Luscinia are, more starfish pop up and Dian fuckowns them all with the old Claudia fuel trick.

DUN DUN DUUUUN.

PREVIEW!!

Oh god I only get to do this two more times nooo.

Firstly, Grand Exile stuff since that was how the episode opened. Interesting that it was made by the Ades federation for their, as Luscinia claims anyway, "grand cause". Parts of it were never even finished, which isn't surprising considering it was left in Glacies for so long-- long enough for the Glaciens to settle and make that land their own. It's also cool that parts of its interior were so similar to their present-day battleships, Giselle noticed easily enough. It shows that their overall technology didn't take big huge steps since the time they first constructed the Exile. During this battle pieces of it were falling apart due to the enormous power its massive weapon was letting off - not to mention the area it fires from leaves a huge hole as a result, also probably results of it never being truly finished, but I think that's mega cool that they're showing it as a whole is kind of shoddy in places.

Also, it's fired three times already, and the weapons can only be used once, meaning it has five shots left, out of the eight it has. Possibly 9, if that "point" in the center front ends up being a weapon as well. Five does make more sense, considering there are 5 more Exiles in orbit that can be used as defense-- if it comes down to the Grand Exile firing the rest of its weapons, that is. Either way I still love the way this thing looks and if they ever made some kind of figure/model of it this would be me:

Oblig biased Dio rambles time. On one hand I get why he is out of commission for the final battle, because if he was out there shit would be over already due to his endless badassery. I am SO HAPPY to see Tatiana and Alis out there together kicking ass again, but since we found out Dio was actually the vanship team's captain I've always wanted to see him actually lead it because we never get to. '-'a AND IMAGINING HOW SIMULTANEOUSLY BADASS AND ADORABLE IT WOULD BE makes me go aaahh I want it. But then who the fuck knows what is going to happen next week. And of course, Dio is the man with the plan in this episode as well, going right ahead to activate the Exile to save Ilgasia, so even hurt and out of the actual battle he is getting shit done and being amazing. Oh Dio. ♥♥ And the salute thing with him will always be the most adorable TWO YEARS LATER AND IT'S STILL SO MUCH FUN TO TAKE ORDERS.

But branching off of Dio being out of battle commission, so many other amazing things happened as a result. First being Tatiana and Alis leading the Vanship team, hopping back into the battlefield together-- and Alis's cute "we haven't flown like this in forever." ;o; Seeing them in action together again was also something I was waiting to see. And then of course we needed someone good enough to protect Alvis as they went inside the Grand Exile to find Sara, so Dian finally gets a chance to shine/possibly redeem herself some. And did she ever.

Even though she and Millia may never really see eye to eye again after this, she was willing to step up and stop Luscinia for good and put those feelings aside, even though Millia outright told her no, she can't yet forgive her for what she did. Dian's still in a pretty shitty place, but her actions in this episode show that even though she's still just as lost and messed up as she's been, she's at least facing the right direction to make up for things and possibly find her footing again. So now she can start to make her way back to "sane person" territory instead of "revenge driven cray cray" which is where she just was.

Millia! Hnngh Millia is every sort of amazing in this episode. She's commanding the mfing SILVIUS first of all, and more or less leading the entire fleet into battle. Her experience and study have clearly paid off ten-fold, because her commanding in this episode was mature and headstrong, but like I've mentioned before, still never discarding her feelings and her wishes. She's turned into such an amazing leader and this episode shows that SO MUCH. I also love the brutal honesty she gives Dian over not being able to forgive her about Liliana yet. But her maturity shines through because despite those feelings, she knows Dian is the best person for the job of keeping Alvis safe so she's willing to approach her and stay as friendlyneutral to her as possible due to the situation. Someone needs to app Millia for reals she is so amazing.

Idegaf fandom Sorush coming back made me piddle my pants even if it's stupid as hell BECAUSE ORANG'S FACE MADE IT WORTH IT. And now they can meet together again in the capitol like they promised. ;o;(\ I agree with the whine of VASANT SHOULD HAVE COME BACK INSTEAD to a point but I dunno it's kind of horrifically tragic that the Chaosians are all gone now. And it's kind of so Sorush to make a re-entrance like that. "WAY TO LEAVE ME BEHIND BRO" after the whole "follow your own path, I'll watch you tepidly from behind." As for Sadri, I do wonder what his deal is. I still have a feeling he'll do some kind of turn around in the end hopefully? But from that Raha flashback he seems very stubborn to his beliefs, and has stuck with Luscinia this whole time.

And of course ... SOPHIA AND VINCENT IN THE SILVANA AND URBANUS FINALLY AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Sophia looks amazing and she's still so BADASS and yes look at her command the shit out of that thing. ALSO ALEX-LIKE FLOWING CAPE OF CAPTAIN-NESS. I was waiting for this moment, and they did not disappoint in charging in and kicking all of the ass. But I can say that for what little we're going to see her with this episode and one more left now, that the level of awesome in that entrance was worth it. It is so awesome seeing the Silvana and our old Princess Sophia back in action.

Now countdown until Vincent wrecks the Urbanus for like the 60th time. Also Cecily calling Wina senpai SCREE SO CUTE.

Next week is the last episode and we don't have much to go on from the preview. Fam is going to try and reason with Luscinia-- will Dian and Alvis end up catching up to them or will this encounter be a private thing? I wonder what the Silvius and its crew are going to be up to, considering they kind of slammed headfirst into that piece of the Grand Exile after getting inside. Battle is still going on outside against the Exile's defense systems and Sadri's fleet. Millia looked like she's being faced with a tough decision in the preview in that last shot as well. I AM SO EXCITED AND NERVOUS it's over next weeeeeeeeek.

And with one more episode left, I am having feelings! I mean, yes we have dramas to look forward to, as well as the Travelers manga which is still going. And hey WHO KNOWS maybe in 9 years we'll get another sequel (seriously when they announced this 9 years later I was like OMG???) But Fam being made is kind of what ... led to all of these other spin-offs and side stories.

Basically I am just a nerd full of emotions because I very rarely fall completely in love with a series to the point of raw-streaming, weekly following and dying for more (the last two series I did this with was Gundam SEED and Lost, ok), and doing it again after so long has just been so much fun. And not so much fun in the "oh my god I love this series" way, but also in that it helped me find new motivation in the RP that has been my home since 2005 when I was feeling really stagnant, RP-wise, and turned it into mega ultra fun times again when I (re)apped Dio. Not to mention all of the things that have come up with the first series! Ala all of the things that were never translated that now are, and finding out more and more about the canon as a whole. (SERIOUSLY, THE CHRONICLE POST ON THIS JOURNAL IS MY FAVORITE THING IN THE WORLD omg that whole post you are all amazing)

AND THEN FANDOM STUFF. Hilarious macros and memes (many of which I am sure I have missed due to my attention span so missing discussion threads on ye ol' /a/), shit, I even started a TFLN for the series because I love my luls. BASICALLY fandom, as not huge as LE's is, was still alive and doing things again and it seriously made me so happy because I am that person who just wants to NEVER STOP TALKING AND SQUEEING OVER SOMETHING WHEN I LIKE IT SO MUCH. New fanart! Finding old fanart! Fic! Everything aaaahhh.

So yes I guess this is a post basically saying THIS HAS BEEN SO MUCH FUN ON EVERY LEVEL and if you are reading or following this journal (either just lurking, commenting, stalking my plurk or tumblr or whatever!) you have helped in making me enjoy it that much more by interacting with me. And I'm just, despite any opinions and such, so happy this series happened (9 years later again, seriously wtf world) for so many reasons.

"Tara stop posting about your feelings in your roleplay journal don't you have a real one for that" SHUT UP I DO WHAT I WANT.

So yes, FRIDAY IS GOING TO BE PARTY HARD ENDING TIME LET'S DO THIS. >o<

I'm sure the Urbanus will suffer in the next episode, it's like it is its fate to.

Also yes I am a loser who does loser things.

I SERIOUSLY NEED COUNT OF HOW MANY TIME THE URBANUS HAD GOTTEN FUCKED I think somewhere on some website or blog there was a count-- it might have been on the Fam glossary iderememeber anymore, I just remember laughing.
